For this second stage of Beijing Express, we were pleased to be reunited with our lively pairs. Above all, we crossed our fingers that those whom the production called the “Little Swiss” would go as far as possible in the adventure.
Last week, it was the two sisters Inès and Lola who had to leave the adventure, to their great regret. Brandon and Nathan had also installed the plaques, but voluntarily. We therefore welcomed from the start of the episode a new pair.

Romain and Laura: “we go ass to ass to sleep…”
A volcano for mission
In this new stage, the mission is very difficult: the duos will have to face a monster, the Kawah Ijen volcano, its lake of acid and its swirls of sulfur, to hope to qualify for the immunity test.
The rules were simple: the three teams who managed to bring the heaviest load of sulfur in a wheelbarrow to the summit of the volcano qualified for the immunity test. Everyone therefore had to show resilience to overcome the 600 meters of altitude difference, with a sometimes very heavy load, in torrid heat.

An ultra-physical ordeal that put the body and mind to the test. Difficult terrain, even slippery, potholes: the candidates had to make a rational calculation: load the wheelbarrow to the maximum, and move forward like a snail? Or load less, finish the stage, but take the risk of being the lightest convoy?

The “P’tits Suisses” started fourth with 73 kilos of pure sweat.
However, Flavie and Jérémy were quickly blocked on the climb. Flavie therefore released the “Sheitan” mode, shocking Internet users as much as the voice-over.

Indeed, to give herself courage, Flavie applied a very particular method, inspired according to her by athletes, and more specifically by Roger Federer: screaming like a skunk, to give herself a boost:

For their part, the unknowns, Ryad and Louison, set the bar too high from the start, by loading their wheelbarrow with more than 100 kilos.
Exhausted, the duo had to unload everything halfway, dropping to 15 kilos. Just like Mahdy and Manu, who were slowed down by physical pain.

For Patrick and Myriam, this climb was pure suffering. The young woman, suffering from asthma, even ended in tears. And strangely, so do we. However, she touched Internet users by showing unfailing determination. “We are not losers, we are winners”, was his mantra to surpass himself. The grandpa and his granddaughter finally showed up at the summit, with a small packet of sulfur.
At the summit, gas masks were mandatory, because it was difficult to breathe.
Result of the races: the Romands Flavie and Jérémy qualified for the immunity test, with 23.55 kilos in their wheelbarrow! Yupppeeee!

A test of resistance
The new test quickly presented itself: the pairs had to fight against each other: one of the partners in the pair had to carry a tray covered with needles on top of a balloon. The other rivals had to fill his plate, and try to bend his arm. A test of resistance and strength, therefore.
On the side of our French-speaking people, the organization was quickly put in place: Flavie ran, while Jérémy carried the plate of needles. When Jérémy started showing signs of fatigue, Flavie has transformed again, into “Power Ranger” mode:
“I will immediately charge the colossus, the monster, the Jerome”

Throughout the ordeal, Flavie was… very, very, very encouraging towards Jérémy. So much so that Internet users started “shipping” them together. It must be said that with Flavie’s statements, we understand them:

But Jérémy’s arm ended up giving way, losing immunity. Jérôme and his daughter have won the amulet again, the lucky ones!
Infernal roulette
For the third stage race, an unstable guest entered: the infernal roulette. Six boxes, or six different constraints. At the sound of the beacon, the candidates had the obligation to shout their instructions to the inhabitants of the country (poor people, they must have been traumatized), or even the obligation to speak with marshmallows full of mouths.
And there was no shortage of it: the first constraint was that of the marshmallows.

Second constraint: shout the directions. A fashion that pleased the Corsican girls, but which exasperated everyone, especially Myriam.
The “P’tits Suisses” came third in the event. The unknowns, dead last, were once again unable to escape the final duel. For this elimination race, the duo chose the Valaisans. For good reason: the two Romands seem “fused together”, and their fault will be “to separate them”. Even if Louison drops a big one:
“Flavie, I fear her, I know she’s not going to give up”
For this final event, the objective was to win an individual race of 4 kilometers round trip, and complete a mission on site. So it’s Flavie who sticks to it, because…
“I’m afraid of being alone”

Flavie once again faced the ordeal with her usual “pugliness” and outspokenness:

The mission on site: eat cookies with random flavors (of fish) placed at different heights. Flavie, who has difficulty chewing, lets go completely off-screen:

And for the Swiss, this delay will be definitive: it is the END GAME for them, since Louison returns first.
At the end, we were treated to a big emotional moment with Flavie, who collapsed into the arms of her Jérémy while apologizing. We even get a little statement:
