The Hainan Provincial Highway Administration Bureau has analyzed and predicted the operation of the expressway network in previous years. It is expected that from February 16 to 17, 2024, the Hainan Provincial Expressway will usher in the return peak. Starting from 14:00 on February 16 and 10:00 on February 17, the traffic pressure on the Hainan Province Expressway towards Haikou will continue to increase. Among them, the return highway sections that are prone to traffic jams are mainly the Ding’an-Longqiao section of the G98 round-island expressway (towards Haikou), the Chengmai Fushan-Bailian section of the G98 round-island expressway (toward Haikou), the Sanya Damao Tunnel section of the G98 round-island expressway (toward the city), G98 Ring Island Expressway Wanning Riyue Bay Section (direction to Qionghai), G9812 Haiqiong Expressway Yanfeng-Guilin Yang Section (direction to Haikou).
In order to alleviate the traffic pressure on the expressway, the Hainan Provincial Highway Administration recommends that drivers choose the following travel routes based on the section that is prone to congestion during the return peak of the Chunyun Expressway in Hainan:
1. G98 round-island expressway: For vehicles from Sanya and Ledong to Haikou, it is recommended to choose G9811 Haisan Expressway; for vehicles from Lingshui and Wanning to Haikou, it is recommended to choose G9813 Wanyang Expressway-G9811 Haisan Expressway; for vehicles from Dongfang, Changjiang and Danzhou to Haikou For vehicles, it is recommended to choose G9813 Wanyang Expressway-G9811 Haisan Expressway; for vehicles from Lingao to Haikou, it is recommended to choose S22 Wenlin Expressway-G9811 Haisan Expressway; for vehicles from Qionghai to Haikou, it is recommended to choose G9812 Haiqiong Expressway.
Among them, some sections of the east line that are prone to congestion and recommended routes include: (1) The Damao Tunnel section in Sanya is congested in the direction of Lingshui. It is recommended that passing vehicles leave the expressway from Yalong Bay Interchange and bypass Jiyang Avenue-G223 National Highway, and then enter the expressway from Tengqiao Interchange. Keep driving. (2) The Riyue Bay section of Wanning is congested in the direction of Qionghai. It is recommended that passing vehicles leave the expressway from the Mengguopo Interchange and bypass the G223 National Highway – Xingmei Avenue – Lianxing Road, and then enter the expressway from the Shenzhou Peninsula Interchange to continue driving. (3) The Ding’an section is congested toward Haikou. Some sections of the west line that are prone to congestion and recommended routes include: Chengmai Fushan-Bailian section is congested in the direction of Haikou. It is recommended that passing vehicles leave the expressway from Duncha Interchange and bypass X300 County Road-G225 National Highway to drive in the direction of Haikou via Chengmai Jinjiang River, and then Enter the highway from Bailian Interchange and continue driving.
2. G9811 Haisan Expressway: The Yongxing section heading toward Haikou is congested. It is recommended that passing vehicles leave the expressway from Yongfa Interchange and bypass the G224 National Highway toward Haikou, and then enter the expressway from Yongxing Interchange to continue driving.
3. G9812 Haiqiong Expressway: The Yanfeng Hub-Guilinyang interchange section is congested. It is recommended that vehicles passing through Yanfeng Hub leave the G9812 Haiqiong Expressway and bypass the Haikou Ring Expressway toward Haikou. The departments have established a linkage and collaboration mechanism and proactively contacted local public security and traffic police and other relevant departments to jointly ensure highway traffic safety.
