In a festive atmosphere for the 97th birthday of América de Cali, the sixth date of the opening tournament of the BetPlay 2024 League closed. The Red Devils received Atlético Bucaramanga at the Pascual Guerrero in a game that ended 0-0. This tie left the scarlets in box 15 in the standings, while the leopards rose to eighth position.

During the first half at the Pascual Guerrero stadium it was calm and with few opportunities for both teams. In the initial 45 minutes there was only one clear option for Bucaramanga and another for América by Adrián Ramos.
You found out what happened in the first half, the second half had more action. Barely two minutes had passed and Ramos himself gave a header after a response from Aldair Quintana and scored the ball into the Bucaramanga goal. However, Edwin Cardona was in an advanced position and the referee annulled the goal.
Cardona also tried to open the scoring for América with a shot on goal, but Aldair Quintana managed to stop the play and deny the veteran of the scarlet team from scoring the goal. But the official time passed plus the added 12 minutes and the teams shared points.

Prior to the game at Pascual Guerrero, Deportes Tolima beat Jaguares de Córdoba at home 2-0. The person in charge of opening the scoring was Julián Amaya with an own goal in the 68th minute. After a cross from Alex Castro, Jhon Figueroa, the goalkeeper of the Montería team, came out to reject the ball. However, the play was costly for him, as he left the ball in the penalty spot and Amaya, a Jaguares defender, in his attempt to get it out, ended up putting it into his own goal.

Towards the end of the match, in the 82nd minute, Jeison Guzmán filtered the ball for his teammate Brayan Gil, who fired a shot with his right foot that left Figueroa with no options and closed the match with a 2-0.
This victory gave the lead to Tolima, which, like Junior, has 13 units, but the goal difference puts the Ibagué team at the top of the table. Curiously, the seventh date will pit pijaos and sharks face to face at the Metropolitan stadium next Sunday, February 18.
