Egyptian artist Tamer Hosni’s Film “I Love You” Breaks Records in Saudi Arabia

Egyptian artist Tamer Hosni interacted with the statements of Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, about film revenues within the Kingdom.

Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh said: “I like to say numbers, and know that they are the correct numbers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

He added: “If we talk about income equivalent to the Egyptian pound, the record so far is set in 2022 by the artist Tamer Hosni, with approximately one billion pounds in revenues in the Kingdom.”

The artist Tamer Hosni shared a video clip on his Instagram account, documenting the statements of Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh, and commented by saying: “Sincere thanks to His Excellency Counselor Turki Al-Sheikh… You supported me, Abu Nasser.”

He added: “Apart from the fact that this number goes to distributors abroad so that no one would think that the producer or the heroes of the work are receiving this amount, this number is distributed to distributors abroad around the whole world, and the artist receives a fixed wage.”

He continued: “Many were questioning my revenues, and many criticized the film before it was shown simply because it was written, directed by me, and had a soundtrack.”

The Egyptian artist revealed that the movie in question is “I Love You,” which was received by theaters two years ago. “I had postponed a celebratory post with you about the success of the work that had been released two years ago, until the competent authority announced its record, and then it would come from Abu Nasser himself in front of the whole world… to prove that My words were correct and that I am not saying anything but the truth, and I am not forced to say anything but the truth…and this is certainly in contrast to the film’s revenues in Egypt and the rest of the world.”

Hosni thanked the head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority and his fans in Egypt, the Kingdom and the Arab world, as well as the film makers.

He concluded by saying: “I can now celebrate with you the success of the first film I directed. Praise be to God.”

The movie “I Love You” starring alongside Tamer Hosni included Hana Al-Zahed, Hamdi Al-Mirghani, Hoda Al-Mufti, Medhat Tikha, Tamim Abdo, Amr Sahsah, and it was written and directed by Tamer Hosni.
