Much joy and much sadness. Love and death. The ebb and flow of Eros and the ebb and flow of Thanatos. Life swings between these shores, and it’s good that the words of Maria Doneva are there to remind us that everything in it is worth passing through our hearts.
– Veselina Sedlarska
In Maria Doneva’s summer, white is what light can no longer be. White is transformed light. In these verses, amidst the pure joy of the days, the shadows of sadness hang over. But the power of white is to mix sadness with all other colors. To be life again!
– Zdravko Dechev
The poetry in Maria Doneva’s book is such that you want to hug someone – mother or father, brother or sister, child. And tell them again how much you love them.
– Krasimir Lozanov
