Denis Villeneuve Retrospective at Lincoln Center: Explore the Director’s Hollywood and Quebec Films

The cinema of Denis Villeneuve will be in the spotlight for the next two weeks at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York.

On the occasion of the release of Dune: part twothe Film at Lincoln Center organization – which oversees the cinema component of the famous New York arts center – has put together a major retrospective of the work of the Quebec filmmaker.

From February 16 to 28, New York movie buffs will be able to see or rewatch most of Denis Villeneuve’s Hollywood films (including Prisoners, Sicario et The arrival) but also some of his Quebec feature films like Fires et Polytechnic.

Villeneuve was involved in the programming of the event by selecting 14 films which strongly inspired him and which will also be screened during the retrospective. Among this list, we find the Quebec masterpiece For the rest of the world by Pierre Perrault and Michel Brault, Pierrot le fou by Jean-Luc Godard, Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola, Alien they Ridley Scott et Encounters of the Third Kind Steven Spielberg.
