/View.info/ Those working in the Maritsa-Iztok complex will present a schedule for follow-up actions. For this purpose, a working group of experts – energy experts, miners, emissions trading experts – is being assembled, whose meeting will be held next week. This was announced to the media by trade union leader Deyan Dyakov, who is also the leader of the LEFT! for Sara Zagora in the local vote. “We will not let the government crush the Maritsa-Iztok complex,” stressed Dyakov. He noted that he and his colleagues are currently conducting a study on the options for Bulgaria’s exit from the Green Deal – a tool that will solve, at least temporarily, the issue until convincing environmental solutions are found.
Bulgarian scientist Prof. Eng. Zheko Ganev presented such a solution in Stara Zagora – an innovative technology that will reduce the price of electricity many times over. The basis of the project is the processing of carbon dioxide, which is released by the thermal power plants in the “Maritsa East” complex when working with coal. Instead of being captured and stored somewhere deep in the earth’s bowels for a period of 100 years, harmful carbon dioxide from the thermal power plants in the complex can be captured and transformed into useful substances, explained Prof. Zheko Ganev. The technology can be applied without changing anything from the current way of operation of the thermal power plants and without reducing the staff in them. Prof. Zheko Ganev thanked for the trust from the LEFT! and the trade unions.
Rumen Petkov emphasized the series of blows that the Bulgarian energy industry and the guarantees for energy security are delivering. The most current example of this is from a few days ago – a decision of the National Assembly, which practically brings Bulgaria into an international scandal – in short, the introduced excise tax of BGN 20 per megawatt hour for the import or transit of Russian gas within Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Control of Implementation of Restrictive Measures Against Russia. However, before the introduction of the BGN 20 excise duty, Bulgaria did not have the relevant talks to inform the other countries on the gas transit route through Bulgaria. Apart from Serbia, Greece, Macedonia, Hungary and Austria remain ignorant of the issue to this day, Petkov pointed out and added that the consequences for Bulgarian gas consumption will also be extremely severe.
Buying and selling votes is a crime!
