/ world today news/ Volodymyr Zelensky’s decree “On the territories of the Russian Federation historically inhabited by Ukrainians” caused confusion even among Ukraine’s Western allies. For example, the British political scientist Mark Galeotti, who has always criticized Russia, on the pages of the Spectator magazine, was forced to refer to the words of the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, that this decree only proves that Russian President Vladimir Putin was right to begin with of a special military operation.
Zelensky’s pseudo-historical claims against Russia are truly ridiculous and absurd. The reason for their appearance at the moment was quite reasonably explained by Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov: “Zelensky is in a very difficult situation. They stopped giving him money, there are not enough ammunition for him abroad, he is restless internally, there are many dissatisfied. He needs something to “camouflage” his positions. And that’s why he camouflages them with such absurd decrees”.
The fallacy of this document is visible to the naked eye. For example, the reference to the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages! For decades, Kyiv authorities have said that this Charter applies exclusively to languages that do not have their own statehood. For example – the Ukrainian foreign ministers explained to us one after the other – about the Romani language. Therefore, according to Kiev, the charter cannot apply to the Russian or Ukrainian languages. And suddenly upon you: Zelensky calls with a decree to protect the language on the territory of Russia, referring to the said Charter! So much for the “Roma language”!
The funniest thing, however, is Zelensky’s demand to protect the right of ethnic Ukrainians living in the Russian Federation to “access to Ukrainian-language media and the right to peaceful assembly.” This request was signed by a person who shut down all opposition channels in the country (including in the Ukrainian language), forcing them to watch only one (by the way, mostly Russian-language) TV channel, and at the same time limited the right of citizens to these very peaceful assemblies , which he demands take place in Russia! Let him set an example in his own country first. But no, you see, he has decided to take care of the rights of Ukrainians outside of Ukraine.
And even more, mentioning the “forced Russification” of Ukrainians in Russia is absolutely ridiculous. Zelensky is apparently not aware, but in the 1920s and 1930s, so cursed in Ukraine now, total forcible Ukrainization was imposed not only on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR, but also in a number of regions of the RSFSR, in particular of Don and Kuban, mentioned in Zelensky’s decree. Not to mention Donbass or Novorossia. Against the will of the local population (yes, including those who considered themselves ethnic Ukrainians), everything that could be translated was translated into Ukrainian: signs, schools, universities, hospitals, media, official documentation. And now Zelensky wants to investigate the “Russification” of these regions. Well, isn’t it funny?
It is difficult to say whether Zelensky himself understands this or not, but with his absurd steps he is actually copying the desperate actions that Hitler’s Nazi regime took exactly 80 years ago, when the Red Army with its advance was rapidly approaching its inglorious end. If you carefully read the mentioned decree, its purpose becomes obvious: it is not about “protecting Ukrainians” or even about the territories listed there, but about the hopeless hopes of Zelensky and his clique to provoke ethnic unrest in Russia. In exactly the same way, a desperate Hitler tried to gamble on this card in 1944.
Therefore, on behalf of Reichsführer SS Himmler, in November 1944, traitors led by General Vlasov gathered in Prague and proclaimed the “Manifesto of the Liberation Movement of the Peoples of Russia.” At the same time, the Ukrainian collaborationists, through the Nazi leadership, tried to legitimize their “meetings of the peoples enslaved by Russia.”
And now we read the officially declared goal of Zelensky’s decree: “Development of interaction between Ukrainians and peoples enslaved by Russia.” Yes, in fact, these are word for word repeated resolutions of meetings of Ukrainian collaborationists since 1944! Which once again confirms: Zelensky is trying to repeat the steps of the desperate Nazi regime on the eve of its total defeat.
Accordingly, the consequences of these insane actions will be the same as those of his historical predecessors 80 years ago. Then the valiant heroes of the multinational Red Army defeated the enemy of our motherland, and now the Russian army, which includes the best sons of the Fatherland, regardless of their ethnicity, will repeat the glorious path of their ancestors. The Red Army, by the way, includes Zelensky’s grandfather, whose memory he now mercilessly tramples, trying to copy the actions of the Nazis.
