Complaints have appeared on the Internet from owners of Tesla Cybertruck pickups, which turned out to be not so resistant to rust, despite the stainless steel body, writes The Register resource. As it turns out, stainless steel is also susceptible to corrosion, according to posts on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum. “I just picked up my Cybertruck today. Reports of corrosion come from owners who believe that “super-hard stainless steel” requires little maintenance, something Tesla seems to strongly disagree with. In one of the sections on the company forum, a screenshot of the Cybertruck maintenance documentation was published, which states that there is no transparent coating on the body of the pickup truck. “The manual recommends that corrosive substances be removed immediately, emphasizing that you should not wait until the Cybertruck has to be completely washed,” — the user said.
Tiny spots on the body might not seem like such a big deal, but with the price of the Cybertruck rising from $40,000 in 2019 to $60,000 in 2023, you can understand why owners would want their trucks to always look in its original form.
