Fire at Hughes Apartments in Brooklyn Leaves 12 Injured, 1 in Critical Condition

A fire originated on the fourth floor of a building in Brooklyn, spreading to the other units. At least 12 people were injured and one of them is in critical condition.

The Fire Department of New York (FDNY) reported that the accident occurred this Wednesday, around 9:50 in the morning, at Hughes Apartments, located on Sutter Avenue, Brownsville.

By the time we arrived at the scene and fought the fire, smoke was coming out of the windows. The building has a total of 22 floors.

The person with “fatal injuries” was rushed to a hospital and his health condition is reserved. The rest of the victims reported minor injuries.

The causes of the fire remain under investigation.
