Vanya Grigorova: A change in the capital’s management philosophy is necessary, we are the real democrats – 2024-02-14 18:01:38

/ world today news/ We have a historic goal and we must not miss the moment for a change in the management of Sofia, says the candidate for mayor of Sofia and leader of the list of MK “BSP for Bulgaria”, “LEVITSATA!” and others..

We are in a historic moment, and now is the chance to change Sofia and the capital to elect a left-wing mayor after 33 years of right-wing government. This message was sent by Vanya Grigorova. “We have to focus on the big goal. We have a goal and it is historic. We really have an extraordinary moment and we must not miss it,” she said.

“First of all, we must change the philosophy of the city’s management, since for 33 years the capital has been managed completely irresponsibly,” Grigorova stressed.

The candidate for mayor of Sofia Vanya Grigorova and the candidate for mayor of Oborishte district Mihail Stavrev, broadcast by the broad left “BSP for Bulgaria”, met and talked with like-minded people, sympathizers and representatives of the public in Oborishte district.

At her meeting with like-minded people, Vanya Grigorova stated that maximum mobilization is needed in the coming hot phase of the campaign.

“It is true that we still have a lot of work to do, right now, in the coming days. Let’s mobilize as much as possible in the next week”, urged the candidate for regional mayor of Oborishte, Mihail Stavrev.

Grigorova emphasized that citizens should be aware of the difference between us and our opponents in order to make their choice and stated that they have completely different values and general differences in their vision of governance with the main contenders:

“They think that there is nothing wrong with the withdrawal of the Municipality from the management of the capital, they have nothing against the concession of communal services, and they present all this – the return of all basic activities to municipal hands, as something impossible, as a utopia, as if this is not happening in normal civilized countries”, explained Vanya Grigorova and asked why this can happen in Vienna, in Paris, even in Troyan, and it cannot happen in Sofia.

She once again emphasized her thesis that when municipal activities such as landscaping, maintenance of lighting and infrastructure, water supply and sewerage are handed over to private companies, in practice this is a refusal of management, which is too expensive for the citizens of Sofia.

“Because the money that goes to private companies and with which they make a profit should remain in the municipality in order to more fully satisfy the public interest, and not to explain to ourselves that there is no money to fix the health centers, yes repair the roofs of the schools, build new swimming pools, kindergartens or solve other existing problems”, commented Vanya Grigorova.

According to her, now political hypocrisy has reached new heights – Parties and coalitions, which were elected because of their differences in political rhetoric, are currently ruling together.

“We are the democrats in Sofia and in the state. They are autocrats. They are the ones who subordinate the public interest to money. They are the conduits of the lobbyists. But in no way should we allow them to call themselves democrats. Because democracy means rule by the people. It’s money management with them,” said Grigorova and added that until now her opponents continue to stubbornly avoid participating in the pre-election debates in the national and public media.

“Why? So that the citizens cannot distinguish between their “management” philosophy in quotation marks, because this is not management, but irresponsibility and all that we insist on and will fight for in the next mandate in the Metropolitan Municipal Council,” said Vanya Grigorova. She expressed hope that by the end of the pre-election campaign for the local vote, there will be a chance for open and honest debates with the representatives of the assembly, so that the citizens can decide for themselves who to vote for on October 29.

In part of the meetings with citizens and the tour in the “Oborishte” area, which started from the Doctor’s Kindergarten, passed through “Zaimov” Park and ended with a meeting with sympathizers from BSP, the chairman of BSP – Sofia and candidate for municipal councilor Ivan Takov took part .

People and passers-by shook hands with the mayoral candidate Vanya Grigorova with a smile and wished her success – with undisguised sympathy and hope that Sofia would change.

Buying and selling votes is a crime!
