The short version
- Solberg still leads as prime minister favorite, according to Norstat polling for NRK and Aftenposten. Støre’s popularity dropped after questions about Solberg’s competence.
The summary is created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) and quality assured by Aftenposten’s journalists.

This is shown by a new opinion poll conducted by Norstat for NRK and Aftenposten.
The right-wing leader had a solid lead down to Støre until the election last year. However, that gap was closed when the extent of Solberg’s competence mess became known.
Suddenly Støre was about as popular as Solberg. He is no longer.
For the third month in a row, Solberg has a clear lead in Støre. It is roughly the same size as it was before Sindre Finnes’ extensive share trading became known.
The background figures in the survey also say something about which voters prefer the two candidates.
As is well known, Støres Ap forms a government with the Center Party. However, the latter’s voters do not seem to be particularly enthusiastic about the country’s prime minister.
Only half of SP’s voters believe that Støre is best suited to be prime minister. In fact, 2 out of 10 say they think Solberg is the right one.
3 out of 10 don’t know.
The MDGs lean to the left
The Green Party recently came out and said they would not point to either Solberg or Støre before next year’s election.
The survey shows that 6 out of 10 MDG voters think Støre is best suited. 1 in 4 MDG-ers point to Solberg.
Støre is not particularly popular with Rødt’s voters either. Only 56 percent answer that Støre is the best fit. 41 percent do not know.
On the non-socialist side, it is currently only KrF that has pointed to Solberg as its candidate for prime minister. 74 percent of KrF voters believe that she is the right one.
The Left is currently more wait-and-see. They are currently awaiting the final conclusions in the Storting’s control hearing of Solberg’s competency case.
The survey shows that only 6 out of 10 Liberal voters believe that Solberg is the right one. 1 in 4 answer that they do not know.
3 out of 4 FRP voters believe that Solberg is the right woman for the job.
