Burgas pensioners will be able to get a “Burgas Silver Community” privilege card. The decision was taken at today’s session of the Municipal Council with a full majority of 47 votes “for”.
Every resident of the municipality of Burgas over 65 years of age can participate in the BSO program and receives a card for privileges, which entitles him to discounts at the sites of the commercial companies that have joined the program.
The privilege card enables its users to purchase goods, use services, visit establishments and cultural events at preferential prices.
The card will be valid on the territory of the Municipality of Burgas and is a plastic that certifies membership to the BSO. Each plastic has a unique identification number and refers to a specific individual, with no right to transfer.
An official register will contain the details of BSO card holders and the corresponding identification numbers.
The commercial companies that will join the program can themselves determine the % discount they will provide, and it cannot be less than 5%.
For their social commitment, BSO partners receive a name certificate from the Mayor of Burgas Municipality “Friend of the Burgas Silver Community” and a sticker that must be placed in a prominent place in the commercial establishment.
Burgas Municipality will be the main partner in the BURGAS SILVER COMMUNITY program and will determine which municipal commercial companies and enterprises, as well as administrative services, will be included in the program.
Participation in the program is based on a submitted standard application.
The proposal to introduce the map was made by Mariela Kirova, Stoyan Grozev, Georgi Kuzmanov, Svetoslav Todorov, Milen Georgiev and Georgi Manev, municipal councilors from the KOD- Bulgarian rise group.
“Through BSO, we together – institutions and society, can support our elderly loved ones and improve the way they feel and experience their old age. It depends on our sense of solidarity, responsibility, concern and understanding to be a conduit for more health and happiness for them,” they motivate.
The planned funds for the program are in the amount of BGN 15,000, which will be provided by the budget of the municipality of Burgas for 2024.
