Since 2017, Anna Croneman has worked as program manager for SVT Drama. Before that, she has a background at the production company Avanti Film, which she also co-founded.
This spring, she will become CEO of the Swedish Film Institute – which she wants to be “a spearhead for film in all matters”.
This is exactly what Anna Croneman has previously criticized the Swedish Film Institute for not being, in a debate article on DN.
– It felt like nothing happened in perhaps the most urgent time for Swedish film in a very long time, says Anna Croneman to SVT Kulturnyheterna and continues:
– With my expertise, I think I can speed things up a bit.
In addition to program director at SVT, Anna Croneman has produced a large number of films and TV series, but also sat on the board of the Film Institute.
Stormy period
It has been a stormy period in the management of the Swedish Film Institute. Former CEO Anette Novak was criticized for her leadership style and was ousted by the board in September – after only a year and a half in the post.
After that, Åsa Sjöberg, who has a background at, among other things, TV4, took over as temporary CEO.
The government appoints the Film Institute’s board, they in turn appoint the institute’s CEO.
