1952. A student slips The Stranger by Albert Camus into her schoolbag. She walks up Boulevard Saint-Michel with a light step, towards the Sorbonne, the oldest university in France where the youth of her time gathers. At 29 Boul’Mich, the student stops in front of a new shoe store. The window sparkles with joy and bright colors! The “C” in Carel, the name of its founders Georges and Rosa, stamps the collection.
2022. In homage to its history which has been written for 70 years, Carel imagines the Mini Sorbonne. This irresistible little brother of the Sorbonne plays on the codes of the old-fashioned satchel, with its thin, adjustable shoulder strap, its organic linen lining and its vintage “C” logo.
