Julia Henriksson was one hundredth off Irene Ekelund’s eleven-year-old Swedish record in the 200 meters already in the season debut. In today’s Nordenkamp, she was on the hunt for a record.
From lane six, Henriksson started strongly and never slowed down.
The time stayed at 23.08 and was then corrected down to 23.06. That’s an improvement on the previous record by nine hundredths.
– I have fought for this for so long and trained so hard, she says after the record.
Henriksson won the 200 meters ahead of the Nordic record holder Henriette Jäger.
