In 2027, the country’s film box office revenue could reach $13.2 billion, accounting for 27 percent of the global market, the report, titled Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2023-2027, said.
The report also estimates that the total revenue of China’s entertainment and media industry will reach approximately $479.9 billion by 2027, and the compound annual growth rate over the next five years will be 6.1%, higher than global growth from 3.5%.
By 2027, China’s Internet advertising market size will reach $146.4 billion, with a CAGR of 9%.
China has already become the world’s largest market for video games and esports, the report further stated, with industry revenue forecast to reach $115.5 billion in 2027.
