Kamala Harris Vows to Serve Country Amid Debate Over Biden’s Age – Wall Street Journal Interview

US Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her willingness to serve her country in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. This comment comes at a key moment when the debate over President Joe Biden’s age has heated up again, reports AFP and BTA.

“I’m ready to serve my country. There’s no doubt about that,” says the 59-year-old Democrat, assuring that anyone who sees her work “comes to the conclusion (that) she is fully capable of leading.”

The interview, as the American publication writes, was published today, but it was taken two days before the publication last Thursday of devastating comments by a US attorney about the memory of 81-year-old Joe Biden.

Robert Hurr, the special prosecutor in charge of investigating the classified documents case withheld by the US president, dismissed the case, arguing, among other things, that a jury would be reluctant to convict “an elderly person with a bad memory”. The comments rocked the campaign, nine months before the November presidential election, which is likely to pit Joe Biden against 77-year-old former Republican President Donald Trump.

All polls point to the Democrat’s age as his main disadvantage in the eyes of voters who doubt his ability to take on a second term.
