Venezuelan minor charged with attempted murder and possession of weapons in New York

After appearing in court last Saturday, he was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities reported that the young man will be tried as an adult but will be held in a youth prison.

The minor of Venezuelan origin was left in prison without the right to bail, as the Manhattan prosecutor’s office considered that he could flee from being released preventively.

The woman suffered a leg injury and was discharged a day later.

Two other teenagers were also detained by authorities.

According to authorities, the minor arrived in New York last September.

The three subjects could have been the people who robbed a store in the Bronx two weeks ago.

Authorities consider him extremely dangerous because he dared to use a firearm in the middle of a public street and shoot at a police officer.

New York Police Commissioner Edward Caban declared at a press conference that it was a “true miracle” that no one was seriously injured in the shooting.
