People’s representative Nikolay Drenchev remains in the parliament as an independent deputy. He announced this at a press conference in Lovech. We remind you that together with Ivo Ruschev and Alexander Arangelov, they were excluded from the parliamentary group of “Vazrazhdane” on Friday.
According to him, Ruschev and Arangelov will also remain as independent deputies in the National Assembly.

“My decision to stay in Parliament was influenced mostly by the huge support I received from many people. Among them – mayors of municipalities in the region, from the offices of ministers with whom we worked, from many members of “Vazrazhdane”, sympathizers of the party and from people who did not like “Vazrazhdane”, said the deputy. According to him, the fact that he has always been moderate and balanced opens up huge opportunities to work for the region, without ideological shackles.
“I have opportunities to finish what I started for the region, because I did a lot of things for the district, and really great and good things happen only when they are worked without political opposition. There are things that are expert, technocratic, a matter of balancing the interests of society,” the MP added.
He also said that he was committed to the cause of Revival, to the ideas, to the ideals, to what was proclaimed.
Drenchev hopes that in the near future, firstly, it will become clear what exactly happened in the Metropolitan Municipal Council, and secondly, through his words and deeds, above all, he will prove that he was not bought, that he was not a traitor and did not lied to the trust of these municipal councilors, whom he proposed to enter elective positions on the list of “Vazrazhdane” in Sofia.
According to him, the municipal councilors, at least in theory, cannot be excluded from “Vazrazhdane”, because the procedure according to the statute is not like that.
“There is another problem – obviously, both the national and Sofia leadership do not know the statutes of their own party. I am also not excluded, to be, a congress must be called. Of course, if I file a complaint in court, all these actions that will be taken against me and the municipal councilors will be struck down by the court, but this is a pointless procedure. I believe that in politics, as in love, if you are not liked, you should just turn around and move on. That’s exactly what I’m thinking of doing,” said Drenchev.
He added that they will not be applying to leave, but will expect to be expelled, which will happen at some point in time. Drenchev also said that his brother Dimo Drenchev, who is also a member of parliament from Vazrazhdane, will not leave the party and the parliament, but he does not rule out that pressure will be placed on him and he will be forced to do so.
