The company under the hills was established in 1990, and a year later it opened a representative office in France. It was established with a charter capital of BGN 50,000, and the shares are distributed proportionally between partners Borislav Portev, Dimitar Ilchev, Krasimir Kurtev and Natalia Popova-Feodorova.
Their main activity is trade in the country and abroad with trucks
– tractors, trucks, tankers, as well as vehicle service.
The business partnership between “Agri M” and “Scania” dates back a long time, and in 2007 the Plovdiv company became an authorized dealer of the Swedish automobile giant. A few years before that, the partners created a specialized service center for the car brand in Plovdiv, which extends over 3 acres. However, the service becomes narrow and they build a new base on 26 acres near Plovdiv, and then another one. “Agri M” is the representative for Bulgaria of a French manufacturer of tanks, as well as of Spanish and Belgian manufacturers of semi-trailers.
“Scania” is a manufacturer of heavy vehicles, buses, trucks, tractors, container carriers, dump trucks, as well as diesel engines with application in heavy industry and shipping. It was established in 1891 by Gustav Eriksson, with the main part of the company located in Södertelle, Sweden. The activity started with the production of railway freight and transport wagons. Twenty years later, the railway company merged with a company focused on the manufacture of machinery. Thus, the company enters a completely new market, in which it operates as a leader. In 1911, the production of buses, trucks and cars started. 25 years later, it introduced the first diesel engine, and soon after improved it with direct injection technology, an innovation for its time. In 1969, the company demonstrated
the most powerful diesel engine with a capacity of 730 horsepower.
In 2010, Scania succeeded in introducing the Euro 6 environmental standard in its heavy-duty trucks, thereby disproving the skeptics in the industry, proving profitability.
Over the years, it has established divisions and operates in 54 countries. The company also has assembly plants in countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. In 2014, the German automobile concern “Volkswagen” acquired 90.5% of the capital of “Scania” for 9 billion US dollars.
