The contract of the Stallions coach will not be renewed. The announcement was made on February 9, 2024, by the Executive Committee of the Burkinabè Football Federation. The divorce between the French technician and the Stallions is now pronounced. In a press release published on February 9, 2024, the Burkinabè Football Federation announced that the contract of the national coach would not be renewed. For the FBF, “the management of the national team at the CAN was out of step with the ambitions of the Executive Committee for Burkinabè football”.
In addition to the coach, the entire technical staff of the Stallions is affected by the decision. The office, chaired by Lazare Banssé, reaffirmed its desire to “raise the Burkinabè flag to the highest step in future events”.
The announcement comes one month before the start of the Morocco 2025 CAN qualifiers and the second day of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
