JawaPos.com – Aware of the very tight competition in the electric car segment, PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) implemented a smart strategy when launching the Omoda E5. Chery’s first electric car launched in Indonesia received a warm welcome from the people of Indonesia.
Apart from providing a special price tag for the first 1,000 consumers, namely IDR 488.8 million, which includes a 1% Value Added Tax (VAT) subsidy. The actual price is IDR 498.8 million including the 1% VAT incentive.
And what is most special is the provision of a lifetime guarantee covering electric motors and vehicle batteries. Chery’s strategy tries to relieve worry when buying an electric car.
According to Rifkie Setiawan, Head of Brand Department PT CSI in his official statement, the presence of Omoda E5 is truly in line with expectations because consumers are very enthusiastic.
“We have prepared a special price which is calculated based on 1% VAT. Even though this policy has not yet been implemented again, we have immediately provided privileges by locking in a special price of IDR 488.8 million for the first 1,000 consumers,” said Rifkie.
Even so, Chery is still reluctant to provide detailed information on how many vehicle order letters (SPK) have been received for its newest environmentally friendly four-wheeler.
Trying to relieve worry when buying an electric car, Chery Sales Indonesia, which has just launched the Omoda E5, immediately protects it with a lifetime guarantee.
Regarding the lifetime guarantee for batteries and electric motors, this is only for the first 1,000 buyers and cannot be transferred. When the vehicle is sold to a second buyer, the warranty will automatically be void.
“When the user sells the car to someone else, the lifetime guarantee will be void, so this guarantee is only for the first owner,” stressed Zeng Shuo Assistant President Director of PT CSI.
However, even though the lifetime guarantee is void, Chery still provides a standard warranty including an eight year or 180 thousand km battery guarantee. Apart from that, there is a vehicle guarantee for six years or 160 thousand km, as well as free service and spare parts costs for five years or 75 thousand km.
