Madagascar. Ntsay Christian remains Prime Minister, as of January 4, 2024

Christian Ntsay will end up breaking an absolute record for longevity in the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Madagascar. Previously, he was successively: former General Director of the SECREN shipyard in Antsiranana; former Managing Director of the oil company SOLIMA; former national coordinator of the ILO/UNDP technical cooperation project – Entrepreneurship in Madagascar for the Promotion and Development of Micro and Small Enterprises; former ILO representative, based in Antananarivo, for the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and Seychelles.

Reminders of his career as Prime Minister.

June 6, 2018, Ntsay Christian was appointed Prime Minister by former President Hery Rajaonarimampianina. This followed a political crisis which led to the resignation of Prime Minister Olivier Mahafaly Solonandrasana.

June 11, 2018Prime Minister Christian Ntsay forms a “consensus government of national unity”.

January 24, 2020maintained in this position by the candidate Andry Rajoelina, elected new President of the Republic of Madagascar, Christian Ntsay is at the head of his second reshuffled government.

With the reshuffle seeming fashionable, a third reshuffled government led by PM Ntsay emerges, January 29, 2020. In fact, the Minister of Public Health, Professor Ahmad was dismissed to be replaced by Professor Hanitrala Jean-Louis Rakotovao.

August 15, 2021 marks the birth of a fourth reshuffled government still led by PM Ntsay.

March 16, 2022a reshuffled fifth government is presented at the Iavoloha State Palace.

January 4, 2024at the Iavoloha State Palace, the President of the Republic, Andry Rajoelina – re-elected in the first round on November 16, 2023 – announces the appointment of Ntsay Christian as Prime Minister, therefore succeeding himself.
