Sílvia Lutukuta made these statements at the end of the visit she made this Saturday morning to that hospital unit, where she verified the level of execution of the works there.
The minister said that at this time the Américo Boa Vida Hospital only has one part in operation, “but in very difficult conditions, which is why we took the decision to transfer the management and professionals here to this health unit”.

Capacity for 300 beds
He highlighted that the hospital will have cutting-edge equipment and will have a capacity for 300 beds, with the particularity of 150 of these beds being destined for children and with all added medical-surgical services and humanized hospital services.
The minister was satisfied with the progress of the work, having received a promise from the contractor that the Viana General Hospital will be delivered by the end of March.
He added that after all the pressure exerted, especially through the Executive Power Holder, who has already visited the infrastructure on two occasions, the contractor has a new dynamic and has a stay to be followed by the Executive in order to ensure that nothing fails. .
“We are checking all the imperfections to be corrected, but we are very satisfied with the level of equipment that we had the opportunity to visit”, said Sílvia Lutukuta, highlighting that the unit will actually be opened in April.
The works at the Viana General Hospital cost the State coffers a total of 125 million euros.
