He Museo Whitney It will have free entry on Sunday, February 11 for people of all ages and with special programming in English and Spanish. There is no entrance fee, but you must reserve by clicking in this link.
During the second Sunday of each month admission will be free. This is made possible by a three-year grant from the program Art Bridges Foundation Access for Allwhich supports increasing access to museums across the country and encourages engagement with local communities.

Family Tours
10:30 am-12:30 pm
Among the activities for the Hispanic community are family tours, a guided tour in Spanish through the museum rooms aimed at families with children over 5 years of age. The museum’s teaching staff talks about the meaning and techniques of the exhibited works, and there are also group artistic creation activities. To start the tour you must register on the third floor of the museum.

Artistic creation with Dyani White Hawk
11:00 am–3:00 pm
Artist Dyani White Hawk will show a new installation located on the eighth floor of the studio. In addition, she will teach a workshop for interested people who will experiment with a variety of art materials to create their own works of art.

Double Look: Dialogue between Generations

Two Whitney experts will tour the museum’s collection to talk about the works and invite participants to look closely at the pieces and discuss them together. Each session focuses on an individual work of art or explores a connection between two works. This event is on the 7th floor.

Harold Cohen Exhibition Tour: AARON

This exhibition traces the evolution of Harold Cohen’s AARON, the first so-called artificial intelligence (AI) program for artistic creation. Over the decades, AARON software has created images intended to be executed by drawing and painting devices. This exhibition features works by AARON. The event is on the 8th floor.

New York City has more than a dozen exceptional museums, some dedicated entirely to children and others with family programs that are worth trying. And many of these museums can be entered by making a donation or taking advantage of the days when they are open to the public with no admission cost.

The Ice Cream Museum opened for a month in New York (until August 31) and all tickets were sold out for the entire month. For the thousands who were left wanting a ‘taste’ of this delicious museum, they are consoled by the fact that there are many other museums to enjoy with their children.

Children’s Museum of the Arts: This museum is fantastic. It has activities for children from 18 months to 15 years old. It’s a perfect place to paint, cut, color, glue and create. Admission costs $11 (free for children under 1 year old) and is only closed on Tuesdays.

Brooklyn’s Children Museum: Brooklyn Children’s Museum: This children’s museum has exhibits and activities for kids of all ages. One of the favorite attractions is Totally Tot, a colorful space for infants and children up to 5 years old where the little ones are in charge. On Thursdays from 2 to 6 pm you can visit for free.

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum: This gigantic complex has 30 restored aircraft, a war submarine and the famous Concorde aircraft. It is open every day and has tickets from $25 for adults and $19 for children ages 7 and up and $12 for kids ages 3 to 6. The museum is free for military personnel and veterans and their families.

Museum of Natural History: This museum, famous for its collection of dinosaur fossils, is an ideal destination for the whole family. It has dozens of super interesting exhibitions and is open every day, except Christmas and Thanksgiving. It also offers its famous “Night at the Museum” where kids can stay overnight. Suggested admission is $22 for adults and $12 for children, but it is at the discretion of attendees to pay what they wish.

New York Hall of Science: From a ‘visit’ to Mars to a walk through the hall of mirrors, this museum is an incredible place to spend an entire day. Although it is a bit far from Manhattan, it is worth the trip to Corona, Queens.

New York Hall of Science: A visit to this complex allows you to enter through the front door to the magical world of science, biology and physics. There are activities for kids ages 1 to 17, including a trip to a (real) rocket park, mini-golf, and the science playground, the museum’s newest attraction.

Museum of Modern Art (MoMa): This incredible museum is a classic destination for visitors touring New York, but it is also a perfect space for kids to learn about art by taking tours with a passport that the museum gives to children and experimenting with colors, papers, textures and interactive art in the so-called Art Lab, which is a laboratory to create and is for families with children of all ages.

National Museum of Mathematics: You don’t have to be a brainiac to have fun in this museum, which is one of the newest in New York (it opened in 2013). Tickets cost $15 for adults and $9 for kids, and guarantee smart entertainment for the whole family. It is open every day and on Fridays it offers a special program for children that is free of charge.

DiMenna Museum: It is part of the New York Historical Society, which in 2016 attracted thousands of families with the exhibition of author Mo Willems and his characters, ‘the pigeon’ and Elephant and Piggie. The exhibition continues until September and is one of the most popular of the year. The museum is open every day, except Mondays.

Queens Museum – This museum is home to one of the most spectacular permanent exhibits, called Panorama of the city. It is a detailed miniature display of New York City and is wonderful to see as a family.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met): one of the most famous museums in the world. Mummies, sculptures, medieval art and paintings from all over the world make this museum a favorite of locals and tourists. The museum offers exhibits and classes perfect for children and families. The suggested entrance is $25 per adult and it is free for children up to 12 years old (but you can pay whatever each visitor considers appropriate).
