The press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the increased police presence was due to Lukovmarsh. The event was scheduled for today, but was banned by the Metropolitan Municipality.
The main organizer of Lukovmarsh is the extreme nationalist Bulgarian National Union (BNS), the organization is considered close to VMRO.
The MEP Angel Jambazki was also spotted in front of the NDK. Supporters of Lukovmarsh were also seen in the subway.

The order to ban Lukovmarsh was issued after the SDVR received a notification to the mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality that representatives of the organizer and their supporters were gathering in the area of the National Palace of Culture for the purpose of holding a stated event – a procession that was not agreed by the Metropolitan Municipality . According to the issued order, the event is terminated, and the SDVR must take the necessary actions, according to Art. 13, para. 2 of the Law on Assemblies, Rallies and Manifestations for Ensuring Public Order.
Only the holding of the ceremony at Trakia Street 1 was agreed by the Metropolitan Municipality, after the order forbidding the holding of the procession was appealed by the organizer and canceled by the Administrative Court – Sofia City.
