All the municipal councilors from our group, who we supported the election for the temporary chairman of the SOS, have implemented the decision of our highest party body – the City Council – from Wednesday evening. This is stated by the municipal councilors from the Local Coalition group “BSP for Bulgaria”, who voted yesterday to unblock the work of the SOS in their official position.

Yesterday, the chairman of BSP – Sofia and the group of socialists in SOS Ivan Takov, his deputy Ivan Peshev, Nikolay Velchev, Ivan Videlov, Stanislav Mladenov, Enyo Savov gave their support for the election of a temporary chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council. The decision was also supported by the representative of the coalition partner Coalition “The Left!” Voyslav Todorov.

“We work in SOS for Sofia and for the citizens as we promised in the campaign. We supported the election of the temporary chairman of SOS today with a clear awareness and deep conviction in the correctness of this decision. All other statements related to this decision of ours are speculations,” the advisers from the group of MK “BSP for Bulgaria” are categorical.

“We have always been reasonable and consistent in our actions in order to solve the problems of the city and the people in it, they claim. – The decision to make the SOS work, which we took yesterday, is incomparably the better alternative than throwing into a complete collapse Sofia municipality, if we enter into a series of endlessly long legal procedures related to the triggering of new elections for municipal councilors in Sofia. We discussed all possible ways out of the situation together with the members of the BSP – Sofia City Council and the final decision from Wednesday evening was clear – we are a responsible party that works sensibly for the people and for the city. That is why we received a mandate from our highest party body to support the election of a temporary chairman and the start of work of the municipal council. We decided categorically that we will not support and be part of one majority with GERB or PP-DB-SS. All other statements are manipulations and speculations for personal political purposes. Only with a working municipal council can one clearly see who supports the majority and who is the opposition. We have a lot of work to do now. And the critics who rush to judge us will be unpleasantly surprised by our next actions. We submitted a request for a referendum to preserve the Monument to the Soviet Army, we will not back down from the cause of preserving the historical memory in the city, we have a request for a financial and economic analysis of the state of the Metropolitan Municipality after the long-term management of GERB, we are preparing a clear alternative to the one submitted by Mayor Terziev a project for the budget of the Metropolitan Municipality, copying the previous policy of GERB.
