Milwaukee Bucks Rout Charlotte Hornets 120-84, Doc Rivers Reaches 1,099 Career Victories

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Doc Rivers reached 1,099 regular-season victories to place him eighth on the NBA’s all-time list, and the Milwaukee Bucks destroyed the depleted Charlotte Hornets 120-84 on Friday, who suffered their 10th loss in a row .

Damian Lillard scored 26 points in his return after a two-game absence due to injury. Malik Beasley made seven 3-pointers in nine attempts and had 21 points for Milwaukee, which has improved to 2-5 under Rivers, who replaced Adrian Griffin.

Rivers passed Larry Brown on the list of wins in the regular season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo accumulated 15 points and 15 rebounds in just 24 minutes, while Bobby Portis contributed to the score with 18, and added 7 rebounds.

The Bucks went into halftime with a 28-point lead and increased it to a maximum of 42 in the second half.

Lillard missed the previous two games – both losses – due to a sprained left ankle, but showed no signs of pain on Friday. He shot 9 of 18 from the field and added eight assists in 29 minutes.

Brandon Miller and Nick Richards each added 16 points for the Hornets (10-41), who only had 10 players available and used all of them after several moves made Thursday at the trade deadline.
