The Dutch DJ Tiësto was supposed to play at the Superbowl on Sunday.
But now he is forced to cancel due to an urgent incident with the family.
“A difficult decision,” writes the artist in a statement on X.
Tiësto was going to play at the Superbowl on Sunday night. Now he is forced to tell the fans that he is quitting the honorary mission.
“A private, urgent family event forces me to go home on Sunday morning. It was a difficult decision to miss the game, but family always comes first,” writes Tiësto on X on Thursday.
Later on Thursday, it became clear that the DJ Ryan Gary Raddonmore known as cascade, replacing Tiësto at the Superbowl, reports Rolling Stone.

First DJ to play at Superbowl game
The plan was for him to play during the players’ warm-ups and during the game’s intermissions at Alligant Stadium in Las Vegas. Last week, Tiësto wrote that he and his team “have been preparing something really special for months”. He thanked the NFL for the “collaboration” and said he looked forward to working with them to deliver something incredible together.
Tiësto’s performance would be historic. He would be the first DJ ever to perform at a Superbowl game. DJ’s like DJ Khaled, Zedd, D-Nice and DJ Snake have played before the games, but never during them, in previous years.
