Egyptian Electricity Holding Company Denies Rumors of Load Shedding Reduction to One Hour

Books – Mohamed Salah:

An official source at the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company said that there is no truth to what is being circulated regarding reducing the period of load shedding to one hour instead of two hours, stressing that the National Electricity Control Authority has not issued any special instructions to change the load shedding times, which apply from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. .

The source confirmed, in exclusive statements to Masrawy, that talk about excluding schools and universities from the load-reducing plan is also incorrect, as no special instructions have been issued for that.

He pointed out that some distribution companies resort to individual solutions only with areas where there are schools, so that the relief occurs after three o’clock in the afternoon, that is, after the end of the school day.

The source stressed that, up to this moment, no instructions have been received regarding excluding schools from the load-reducing plan at all, noting that the decision is within the jurisdiction of the National Electricity Control Center, which informs the distribution companies of any developments or changes in the implementation of the load-reducing plan.
