On Monday evening, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III. was ill with cancer. The finding arose as part of a prostate treatment. It is not yet known exactly what type of cancer the monarch is suffering from, but the 75-year-old is reportedly already undergoing treatment.

Now there are first details about the medical methods. Accordingly, King Charles is undergoing “highly specialized” therapy.

This is how King Charles’ cancer is treated

A source at the Mirror speaks of a “groundbreaking and less invasive treatment” that the king is now receiving. This fits with the palace’s report that Charles would like to continue to carry out certain tasks. Apparently this is actually possible.

According to the insider, the king returns to London once a week for outpatient hospital treatment. He lives in Clarence House. “Mirror” continues:

“Cancer treatment has made rapid progress in recent years and is smarter than before. The effectiveness and side effects have therefore improved significantly.”

Charles carries out royal duties

The gentle treatment even allows Charles to continue holding his weekly audiences with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. These usually take place on Wednesdays and are due to resume on February 21 – just over two weeks after the king’s cancer diagnosis.

The politician and the monarch agreed on the procedure in a telephone conversation. Palace officials say the meetings can be held virtually if necessary, just like Privy Council meetings.

In view of his current therapy, Charles’ public appearances have been postponed or canceled: The king is currently supposed to keep the risk of infection low and, if possible, not come into contact with viruses.

Camilla shares update: This is how Charles is feeling

The latest health update that Queen Camilla shared with her husband also gives cause for hope. On Thursday evening she attended a music event at Salisbury Cathedral to celebrate the work of charities.

According to Britain’s PA news agency, Camilla said Charles was doing “extremely well” given the circumstances. The king had previously met with his son Harry in the British capital, but only for about half an hour. The Duke of Sussex quickly made his way back to California. His wife Meghan and their two children did not come to London with him.

A turbulent jungle camp season came to an end on February 4th – with Lucy Diakovska as the shining winner. The headlines of the past two weeks were dominated by Kim Virginia, Mike Heiter and Leyla Lahouar with their love triangle, but in the end the No Angels singer triumphed.
