Four letters for this abrasive post-punk quartet which debuted on the Lyon scene in 2011 and which has since played in France and Belgium notably alongside Lydia Lunch, The Wedding Present, Guerre Froide, Whispering Sons and more recently with Frustration or DC Fountains
Listening to Rank’s first three albums is like a sharp escape into the ruined, sooted England of the late 1970s or a look into the corrosive West Berlin of the 1980s.
Without wallowing in nostalgia, the group manages to refresh this sound to offer something new with tension and subtlety. In 2021, after ten years of activity, RANK returns with BLACK FRAME, their intense fourth album produced by Mancunian Matthew Leonard of Total Victory.
In 2024, the group is working on the recording of a new 6-track EP and a 45T.
CARBON RED
Rosse Carbon, post noisy rock duo from Lyon, from the noisy era of the 90’s, having played with Yojigen and De Ku Dilacht. Combining various influences and post experiences, RC develops a screaming bass-guitar configuration with the use of screaming machines and piercing drum machine.
