Tourist wounded by gunshot in attempted robbery at Times Square store in Manhattan; police offer $10,000 reward for suspect capture

A tourist who was inside a store in Times Square was wounded by a gunshot during an attempted robbery in Manhattan.

The events occurred on Thursday around 7:00 p.m. inside the JD Sports store, on 42nd Street and Broadway.

According to police, a group of young people tried to steal merchandise from the store.

A guard at the business noticed and stopped two people to ask for the purchase receipt.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the guard.

However, the bullet ended up hitting a 37-year-old woman in the leg.

The New York police managed to arrest one of the suspects.

However, the shooter managed to flee and even fired the weapon a couple of times during his escape against the officers who were pursuing him.

This caused panic among people who were in the streets during the chase.

Police released an image of the suspect, who is between 15 and 20 years old and was last seen wearing a white shirt.

Police offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
