Wine and Enjoyment Trade Fair in Linz: 200 Winemakers Showcase Top Wines and Culinary Delicacies

When winter comes to an end, the winegrowers are already in the starting blocks and getting ready for the trade fairs. The “Wine and Enjoyment” from February 16th to 17th in the Linz Design Center is traditionally considered the largest in the country. Winemakers have been serving their wines and being available for technical discussions for nine years.

200 winemakers in Linz

This time around 200 wineries from Austria and Italy are again represented. This year, in addition to Styria, the focus is on “Wein Niederösterreich”, which will be presented on a joint stand with the current 22 regional winners. In addition, winemakers in the thermal region, which is also the youngest DAC region, show what terroir can taste like with the specialties Rotgipfler, Zierfandler and Burgundy varieties. But Lower Austria also offers culinary delicacies: for example, tasty cheeses from the culinary initiative “This is how Lower Austria tastes” or specialties from “Wachau Beef”.

Five tasting tips

  • Roter Veltliner and Wagram merge into an enjoyable whole. The Bauer organic winery from Großriedenthal knows how to highlight the special features of the native variety. Great terroir wines.
  • Anyone who travels to the Wachau cannot ignore Sighardt Donabaum, its animal labels and its wines with their own unique style. Expressive.
  • The Mayer winery on Pfarrplatz in Vienna and its top wines are also known to beginner wine lovers. Their non-alcoholic wines are still unknown. Worth trying.
  • Winkler-Hermaden, a top company from Styria from Kapfenstein Castle, is committed to sustainability down to the smallest detail and lives the idea in an exemplary manner. Complex wines, great PIWIs.
  • “Sweet dreams” in gratitude. Extraordinary restaurant in Podersdorf with equally powerful and award-winning wines. Just the reading…
