Tiësto has canceled his appearance at this Sunday’s Super Bowl. The DJ calls it “a tough decision” to skip his show during the final of the American football competition.
“I and my team have been preparing something very special in recent months,” he writes on X. “But a personal family situation forces me to return home on Sunday morning. It is a tough decision to miss the game. But family always goes for.” He does not provide further explanation.
Tiësto would be the first DJ to play during the Super Bowl. Before the match he would perform in Las Vegas and during the breaks in the stadium. Some of his sets would be shown in the television recording of the match.
The match is usually the most watched program on American television.
