NEW YORK — This is good news for people who are looking for where to live in New York City more affordably.
And they can still participate in the New York Department of Housing’s low-rent apartment lottery where they can find more than 1,000 apartments in 34 buildings spread across the five boroughs, except on Staten Island.
Rental prices start at $498, but the lottery closes between February 12 and April 3, depending on location.
New Yorkers with annual incomes of $24,000 to $140,000 a year, with Social Security or an ITIN number, can participate, meaning undocumented families also benefit.
