Published in the Government Gazette (Government Gazette 928/Β/7.3.2024) the joint decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Athanassios Petralias and the Minister of National Defense Nikolaos Dendias which makes changes to the existing KYA regarding the increase of the special conditions allowance of work granted to the crews of warships on mission and to the personnel of the Armed Forces on a special mission”

Specifically, the following changes occur:

– Armed Forces personnel performing a special mission are granted a supplement – calculated as a flat-rate grant of compensation for each day of the special mission – 120 euros for the performance of a special mission of “high operational responsibility” outside the area of ​​responsibility of the Chief of General Staff, regardless of whether accommodation is provided on land.

This is a provision that did not exist in the original GPA

– The Council of Chiefs of General Staff, after a proposal by the Supreme Councils of the relevant Branches, determines by its decision additionally the characterization of the missions as “high operational responsibility”,

– The supplement is not paid to personnel traveling for service or training or training or on special ships, as long as in these cases they receive daily allowance away from home, full or reduced, with the exception of travel to carry out special missions of “high operational responsibility” outside the area the responsibility of the Head of the Marine Corps, regardless of whether accommodation is provided on land.

The issuance of this decision does not cause an additional financial burden on the budget of the Ministry of Finance. for the current year, the next year (2025) of the current Medium-term Fiscal Strategy Framework (MFS) 2022-2025, of Law 4813/2021, as well as for the years 2026-2028, beyond the current MFS and therefore the maximum binding credit limits thereof.

The validity of this decision starts from 01.01.2024.
