The first cases of scarlet fever this year were confirmed in Brăila. According to the Directorate of Public Health (DSP) it is about five children of school and preschool age, respectively four from the municipality and one from the county. According to doctors, scarlet fever is a bacterial infection that manifests itself as fever, acute tonsillitis and a deep red skin rash. The disease is contagious and easily transmitted, especially through the air.
