The 100 Highest Paid Athletes of 2023: See Which Football Players are Among the Top Earners

The players of football represent four of the six highest paid athletes on the planet, as well as seven of the first 25, according to the ranking published by the American media.

The Spanish golfer Jon Rahm is second in the ranking with 203 million dollars, followed by Lionel Messi (130 million dollars), LeBron James ($125.7) and Kylian Mbappé (125 millions of dollars).

The 100 highest paid athletes in 2023 include athletes from eight sports and 25 countries, which earned approximately $5.4 billion last year. The $5.4 billion in revenue of the top 100 is up 21% compared to the 2022 ranking, notes the sports magazine.

THE basketball players represent 40% of the top 100, followed by Football (16%), baseball (13%), football (11%), golf (10%), from boxing (6%), tennis (2%) and courses (2%).

THE Los Angeles Clippers are the only team to have more than three players in the top 100, with the quartet consisting of Russell Westbrook (54 millions of dollars), James Harden (51.6 million dollars), Paul George ($51.1 million) and Kawhi Leonard (50.1 million dollars).
