Funeral held for victims of tragic triple murder in Norway

The three victims of the triple murder will be laid to rest from Ingeborgrud Church in Skogbygda.

Thursday 8 February at 13:21

It is a village in mourning that today says its last goodbye to the 10-month-old baby Emily Nordli Andresen, her mother Katrine Nordli Korslund (30) and Katrine’s sister Victoria Nordli Korslund (24).

In the church room there are two white coffins surrounded by flowers. In front of one is a picture of Katrine and Emily. In front of the other is a picture of Victoria and her dog, who was also killed.

According to the local newspaper Raumnes mother and daughter lie in the same coffin.

They were found shot dead in the sisters’ childhood home in Skogbygda on 23 January. The police have charged their father (65) with the triple murder. In an emergency call to the police, he told what he had done before he took his own life.

When the police arrived at the scene, everyone was dead, and the white generation home had been set on fire.

“Leaved its mark throughout the country”

The funeral, which started at 1 p.m., is open to everyone, but the relatives did not want the press to be present.

A photographer from NTB and Raumnes has been given permission to take pictures of the coffins before the ceremony started.

According to Raumnes there are two priests who will lead the ceremony. The local newspaper writes that there are many police present, including mounted police. The murdered 30-year-old Katrine Nordli Korslund was a trained police officer and worked at the police station in Eidsvoll.

The three victims had a joint obituary and memorial page on the internet. Many people have written a last greeting there.

“Loved and missed. We will never forget you. The world’s most beautiful girls,” writes one.

Several colleagues and former fellow students of Katrine, who worked as a police officer, have expressed their condolences. The same has a number of friends and acquaintances of Victoria.

A number of people who do not know the victims have also written greetings:

“My thoughts go out to all bereaved. This has left its mark throughout the country. Rest in peace,” writes one.

“The entire population of Norway sympathizes with you,” writes another.

No obituary has been published for the perpetrator.

Will examine health history

The police have previously stated that they have investigated extensively to find out, among other things, what was the underlying cause of the triple murder and suicide.

– It is not certain that we will find a clear motive, but we are collecting a lot of information and doing what we can to find out why this happened, police prosecutor Hustad has stated.

The police have requested access to the 65-year-old father and grandfather’s health history, but it is unclear whether they will get it.

The police did not want to comment on the case this week.
