Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Assisting in Organizing Intervision Competition – International Contacts Established

Work has begun on organizing the Intervision competition; the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is assisting the organizers in establishing international contacts. This was stated by the director of the department for multilateral humanitarian cooperation and cultural relations of the department, Alexander Alimov.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is assisting the organizers of the competition in establishing contacts with countries that are invited to participate in this event. We will continue this work,” a ministry representative was quoted as saying. RIA Novosti.

He noted that there is already significant interest in the event. The ministry is working on organizational and technical issues and creative aspects of connecting partner countries. Moscow is confident that this “will be a resounding success.”

According to Alimov, Beijing has already appointed a representative who will be responsible for participation China in Intervision. Similar steps are expected from other participating states. So far, “only friendly countries” have shown interest in the event.

As reported EADailyin mid-December last year, the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin said that the first song competition “Intervision”, which could become an alternative to the international singing competition “Eurovision”, could take place in Russia as early as 2024.

Mishustin emphasized that the rules of the new creative competition will be determined together with partner countries.

“We are forming a permanent organizing committee. We will select representatives of the national juries accordingly. I am confident that the song competition will become a bright and extraordinary musical celebration for all our citizens,” the head of government emphasized.
