2024 Annual Unexpected Acts of Kindness Week with Catholic Charities of New York: How to Participate and Make an Impact

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York helps solve the problems of needy New Yorkers, Catholic and non-Catholic alike. The abandoned child, the homeless family and the hungry senior are among those to whom Catholic Charities provides help and creates hope. You can also do your part by volunteering to work with one of our 90 agencies and partners, located in Manhattan, Putnam, Bronx, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Westchester, Ulster, Staten Island and Rockland counties.

Catholic Charities of New York encourages people to participate in the 2024 Annual Unexpected Acts of Kindness Week, which runs from Saturday, February 17, 2024, to the 24th of the same month. Efforts like the annual Unexpected Acts of Kindness Week give everyone, no matter how young or old, the opportunity to contribute to the community. Every year on February 17, Unexpected Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated to encourage people to do good deeds for others, even things as simple as complimenting someone, helping a neighbor with their shopping, paying for coffee. someone or volunteer at a local charity. So whether your plan is to do good deeds throughout the week or just during the designated special day, it all counts.

The purpose of this day is to inspire a ripple effect of kindness in the community and empower people to give back.
