Dutch universities will take measures themselves to limit the influx of international students. For example, all major bachelor’s programs must also be offered in Dutch and some of the English-language bachelor’s programs must be converted into a Dutch-language program.

The aim of the measures is to reduce the number of international students and increase Dutch language skills. In recent years, problems have arisen due to the large influx of international students. The numbers increased partly because universities earn money from international students.
