SBY continued, the Indonesian people have experienced pressure and difficulties in the last 5 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also the economy slowing down and welfare declining.

“Indonesian people feel that in the last 5 years their lives have been under pressure and difficulties. Not only due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also because the economy is slowing down and the level of welfare is decreasing,” he said.

SBY emphasized that the people have very high hopes for the new national leader as well as his representatives in the DPR and DPD.

“The ultimate goal is that the standard of living of the people will improve, the country will be more just, democracy will be more alive, and this nation will be more serious about overcoming the environmental crisis. In essence, the future Indonesian state and leaders can make our people have hope and confidence, that their lives will get better.” “This hope and belief is important, so that our people, especially the less fortunate, do not worry and are not uncertain about facing their future,” he said.

SBY said that whoever wins to become president in the next election must realize that a big duty and responsibility lies on his shoulders and not waste the mandate and trust of the people.

“Political power obtained is not to be celebrated and celebrated. Power is a mandate. Power is a duty. Power is essentially a responsibility,” he said.
