Accident
A serious accident happened on Europalaan in Dilsen on Tuesday evening. Two cars collided head-on. A 65-year-old woman did not survive the blow, a 26-year-old man was taken away in life-threatening condition.
The accident happened at the Vossenberg nature reserve between Dilsen and Opoeteren. For an unknown reason, a head-on collision occurred between a Peugeot and an MG around 7:20 p.m. The blow must have been very heavy, because the two cars at the front were completely destroyed. All help came too late for a 65-year-old woman, the driver of the Peugeot. She died on the spot.
The driver of the MG was trapped in his vehicle. The East Limburg fire brigade responded to free him from the wreckage. The 26-year-old man was transported with life-threatening injuries. The Maasland police completely closed Europalaan in both directions. The Limburg public prosecutor’s office was informed. A traffic expert arrived on the scene to investigate the precise circumstances of the accident.
