Former Al-Shabab Club Executive Director Criticizes Saudi Football Association’s Recruitment Committee for Bias towards Investment Fund Clubs

The former executive director of Al-Shabab Club criticized the recruitment committee of the Saudi Football Association, stressing that the committee’s focus is on the Fund’s four big clubs only.

Al-Sheikh said on the “Sports Scoop” program, “There is a major flaw in the issue of football and sports due to non-specialists,” pointing out that Saad Al-Lathez, although he is diligent, is an executive person and not a decision-maker.

He added that Al-Shabab Club faced many pressures to transfer Carrasco and Miteb Al-Harbi to one of the Fund’s clubs, but the team managers refused so that the club would not become a spare part in the hands of the recruitment committee.

He also referred to the exchange deal between Al-Ittihad and Al-Shabab regarding the transfer of Carrasco in exchange for 4 foreigners, explaining that Al-Ittihad’s professional Romarinho was close to moving to Al-Leoth.

He concluded his speech by saying that the recruitment committee deals strangely with the clubs, as its entire focus falls on the Investment Fund clubs only.
