Prince Harry Arrives in London After King Charles’ Cancer Diagnosis

Prince Harry arrived in London to see his father, King Charles (75 years old), a day after it was announced that the latter had been diagnosed with cancer, according to what British newspapers reported.

Sky News reported that Harry landed at Heathrow Airport in London on a British Airways flight coming from Los Angeles Airport in the US state of California.

The network later added that Harry arrived at his father’s residence at Clarence House.

Harry now lives in California with his American wife, Meghan, and their two children, after the couple stepped down from royal duties in 2020.

On Monday, news reports quoted a source close to the British King that Prince Harry would travel to London “in the next few days” after speaking with his father.

Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, explaining that he had begun his treatment journey.

Charles spent three nights in hospital last month after undergoing corrective surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia. The palace said a separate matter of concern was detected while he was in hospital, without providing any further details about the nature of the cancer.

Harry did not issue a statement regarding the visit, knowing that relations between the king and his youngest son have been tense for some time, especially after the publication of the book “SPARE,” which was published last year, in which Prince Harry criticized his royal family.

Weeks after the book was published, the king asked his son and wife to leave the country house in Frogmore, where they lived in Britain.

According to Sky News, this was considered a major rebuke by the king to his son, who, along with the Duchess of Sussex, stepped down from their royal duties and moved to reside in the United States in 2020, a decision that was said to have “disappointed” his father and the late Queen Elizabeth.
