By 2024, it is intended to deliver around 150,000 scholarships to basic education students, university students and athletes, reported Manuel Cañez Martínez, head of the Institute of Scholarships and Educational Credit of the State of Sonora.
“Well, last year we closed with 112 thousand students benefiting, that is, 612 million pesos in scholarships awarded, for this year (2024), we have a budget of 750 million pesos and the objective of our governor (Alfonso Durazo), “It is that 150 thousand scholarships can be awarded this year (2024), including all basic education students, university students and of course the different programs that exist such as high performance for athletes,” the state official explained.
Manuel Cañez Martínez invited all scholarship beneficiaries to consult the portal becasycredito.sonora.gob.mx for more information on the subject.
Last Friday, Alfonso Durazo awarded 957 scholarships to young athletes and also university students, at the Cobach Villa de Seris Auditorium, located in Hermosillo.
Alfonso Durazo explained that some scholarships for young athletes are up to 50 thousand pesos, while financial support for university students varies between 5 thousand pesos, 7 thousand pesos and 10 thousand pesos.
