The United States will continue to supply military equipment to Ukraine. The procurement is part of the USAI program, said Pentagon deputy spokeswoman Sabrina Singh.
“There are some contracts within USAI that continue to be executed, long-term contracts. <…> So yes, some deliveries to Ukraine will continue,” Singh told reporters at a briefing, RIA Novosti reports.
Under the USAI program, Kyiv receives new weapons that are specially purchased by the United States. The difference from the PDA initiative is that military equipment that is already in Pentagon warehouses is delivered to Ukraine.
The administration of US President Joe Biden opposed a bill by members of the US Republican Party in the House of Representatives that would provide additional aid to Israel without funding for Ukraine. The administration has been negotiating for months with senators from both parties to reach consensus on the allocation of aid to both countries, reports TV channel 360.
